Empowering The Future: A Quantum Leap In The School of Business Administration

When faced with a challenge, they say, that’s where innovation is born. This summer, in the esteemed corridors of the School of Business Administration, we didn’t just witness innovation; we witnessed a revolution.

Our mission was resolute from the outset: Empower the Teacher. In a world where smart technology often takes precedence, our objective was to place our educators at the forefront. We wanted technology to be the support and not the star. And in this mission, instead of one, every classroom was set to be transformed into a dynamic hub of knowledge dissemination.

A budget of $20,000 was handed to us – a sum many believed too meager for the ambition we harbored. Our initial explorations did indeed seem daunting. Classroom modernizations with all bells and whistles were touted at twice our budget. Yet, when the path is challenging, the determined find a way.

Drawing upon a mix of industry consultations, collaborative brainstorming, and sheer resilience, we redefined what a ‘smart classroom’ could look like without burning a hole in our pockets. Today, three classrooms stand transformed, bearing testimony to our vision, and all this achieved within the constraints of our modest budget.

The keystone of our transformation lay in leveraging existing resources and making judicious technology choices. With the invaluable aid of our ITS Telecommunications Department, we integrated the Creston AirMedia systems. We brought in two expansive 82-inch screen TVs and the Jabra PanaCast 50 to provide panoramic video coverage, ensuring every student feels personally connected. An ingeniously procured used Creston Wall Touch Panel became a centerpiece, while the old furniture? Well, with some spray paint and creativity, they now shine as if they’re straight out of a showroom.

Yet, the real magic happens in the hands of our educators. Each teacher now wields an iPad Pro, transforming traditional teaching into an interactive experience. With Microsoft Teams and Zoom at their fingertips, the world is their classroom. Our educators aren’t just teaching; they are orchestrating a digital symphony of knowledge.

Our classrooms are no longer just rooms with four walls; they are ecosystems of learning. We’re witnessing a renaissance in education, where the empowered teacher is at the core. The School of Business Administration is not just setting a precedent; it’s charting a course for the future of education.

Through this transformation, one message stands tall: With vision, ingenuity, and dedication, no budget is too small to make a difference. Today, we’ve not just modernized spaces; we’ve reimagined the very essence of teaching and learning. The future of education has arrived, and it’s here at the School of Business Administration.
