The Andrews University School of Business Administration (SBA) was honored to host a distinguished delegation from the Vietnam Chambers of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) during their visit to Southwest Michigan. The delegation participated in the Global Executive Institute (GEI) Certificate Program, designed to provide top business leaders with cutting-edge insights on global business strategy, leadership, and innovation.
As part of their visit, the delegation toured Hanson International in St. Joseph, Michigan, where they were welcomed by Julie (Swan) LaVanway, the President and CEO of Hanson International, and an alumna of the School of Business Administration. Julie led the delegation through Hanson’s state-of-the-art facility, highlighting the company’s role as a global leader in manufacturing.
The delegation also visited the Jayco RV facility in Middlebury, Indiana, where they explored the production of Jayco’s luxury recreational vehicles. The final stop on the tour took the group to Shipshewana, where they were greeted by Ted Martins, the town manager, and Sonya Nash, the Executive Director, CDME. Here, the delegation learned about the business and cultural landscape of the historic Amish town, known for its unique contribution to the region’s economy.
The VCCI delegation’s participation in the GEI Certificate Program and their visit to Southwest Michigan fostered international collaboration and highlighted the region’s industrial strengths.
