Innovative Ideas in Action: Insights from the HYVE Entrepreneurship Conference

During the last weekend of March, Andrews University had the privilege of hosting HYVE International’s fourth business conference. Hyve International is a dynamic community that supports Adventist entrepreneurs through faith-driven business initiatives. It connects members with valuable resources like as mentorship, funding, and a strong network- all designed to help build businesses that align with both mission and values.

The conference kicked off Thursday with an intercollegiate pitch competition. Adventists universities from around the country came to present their business ideas to potential investors. Representing Andrews University’s School of Business were two teams: Hint of Michigan, a subscription box service, and Adventist Movies, a faith-based film production company.

Throughout the weekend, the message was clear: you can invite God into your business — and He should be your first investor. The central teaching? Put God first, trust Him with your vision, and success will follow. One of the keynote speakers, Joel Nuñez, shared a powerful testimony, explaining how his business only began to flourish once he chose to follow God over money.

Students also learned more about HYVE’s initiatives, including Beehyve Communities — local hubs where entrepreneurs can connect, collaborate, and grow — and the HYVE Startup Circle, which offers resources and mentorship specifically for new, mission-driven ventures.

Hyve International continues to empower entrepreneurs to advance God’s work through sustainable and impactful businesses. Whether you’re just dreaming or already building, Hyve offers a place to connect, grow, and make a difference in the global community.
