Paulette Velazquez is a driven and ambitious business student at Andrews University, specializing in Business Administration and Management, current president of the Andrews University Enactus, and the winner of the Future Entrepreneur of the Year (2023). With a strong passion for leadership and a dedication to personal growth, Paulette has engaged in various internships and extracurricular activities to develop her skills and broaden her knowledge in the business field.
Currently, Paulette serves as a Management Leadership Intern at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth, where she is gaining valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic healthcare environment. In this role, she actively contributes to various projects and initiatives, learning the intricacies of management and leadership in a medical setting.
Alongside her internship, Paulette holds a position as a Housing Assistant in the Residence Life Housing Office at Andrews University. Here, she demonstrates exceptional organizational skills and provides support to the housing office in managing student accommodations. Additionally, she serves as an Administrative Service Desk Assistant in the Campus & Student Life Office, contributing to the efficient functioning of administrative tasks and providing assistance to fellow students.
Paulette’s commitment to her university extends to her role as a Front Desk Representative at Lamson Hall. In this position, she maintains a welcoming environment for students and visitors, ensuring smooth operations and addressing inquiries and concerns effectively.
Beyond her university commitments, Paulette has also ventured into the world of podcasting. As a dedicated Podcaster for Sevenday Radio International, she has been sharing her insights and perspectives on various topics, reaching a global audience. Her passion for communication and storytelling shines through in this creative endeavor.
During her academic journey, Paulette has pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business Administration and Management at Andrews University. She also embarked on a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a concentration in Spanish, focusing on language, literature, and culture. This dual focus allows her to combine her business acumen with her linguistic abilities, creating a unique skill set that sets her apart.
Paulette actively participated in extracurricular activities throughout her education. As an Enactus-Project Manager, she demonstrated leadership and entrepreneurial skills in initiating and implementing projects aimed at making a positive impact in her community. She also engaged in various societies, including the Cultural Appreciation Society and Honor Society, where she contributed to fostering cultural understanding and academic excellence.
Paulette’s educational journey began at Spencerville Adventist Academy, where she completed her high school diploma. During her time there, she showcased her commitment to excellence through her involvement in the Honor Society, Principal’s List, and student government roles. She was also an active member of the soccer team and participated in the Model United Nations at Washington Adventist University.
